Celestron NexStar 6 SE Review

by Tony Wise

Having owned my previous Celestron Nexstar for more that six years I decided to upgrade. I was immediately impressed by the specification a vast improvement over the previous model.

The optical quality of the Celestron NexStar 6 SE is outstanding and the tripod is rock solid. The sky align technology cannot be beaten and the quality of the eyepiece is really great.

In my opinion it is a great scope with a combination of optical quality, portabilty whilst still being rugged. I have no hesitation in recommending this scope.

Best Scope Yet

I agree with the previous comments, and find the Celestron Nexstar 6SE to be a great scope.

The optics are really amazing. I set up next to a 10" dobsonian at a star gazing event and I found that the views of the 6SE were equally as good as those in the dobsonian.

The set up is light enough to be carried out into the backyard for quick observation sessions, yet heavy enough to give rugged stability.

I found the diagonal to be of a high quality as well, unlike many that come with more expensive telescopes and need to be replaced after a short while.

The hand controller is a doddle to learn and selecting deep space objects or planets is simple and straight forward.

Good value telescope
